About THE AUTHOR

Jenny Bussey has lived in Spain for over 20 years, after moving here from Kent with her husband two years after his early retirement.

At first she wondered what she would do to occupy herself, but she soon became involved in a variety of activities, first founding the Costa Blanca Gardeners' Circle in 1990 and, from that, getting involved in the Spanish Red Cross, then with local HELP organisations, and much more.

Her knowledge of Spanish, coupled with her training as a nurse, has meant that she has often been called on to help people with their health and other problems. "Tell the Doctor" was compiled to help cover this need and, since the first small edition in 1992, has continued to grow and find ever-increasing markets through word-of-mouth and articles in the local English press, as well as through many associations, clubs and shops that have ordered copies for their members and clients.

JENNY'S THANKS GO TO:

**Association Careline/Com-Sanit in Orba, Alicante, whose idea it was back in 1992, to help with communication at our local village doctors' surgeries.

**The HELP associations throughout the Costa Blanca that have been unstinting over the years in sharing their experience of dealing with the many health problems that arise within the ex-patriate population in Spain.

**The many other individuals who have made useful suggestions over the years.

**My friend Jan who has now translated "Tell the Doctor" into both Dutch and German - follow the links above to these web sites.

It is such input that has made the book so useful and popular. Of course It is impossible to cover every situation that may arise. However, its simple and practical layout acts as a means of communication for 'first contact' with the Spanish medical system and helps everyone concerned avoid frustrating incomprehension.
